Instagram has officially released trend predictions for 2022. They cover 11 content genres to share what they think we can be expecting to hit in this new year. Here are my key takeaways from the first four segments.
Fashion & Beauty
👠 We can expect 2022 to be full of bold fashion statements such as Dark Academia and Nostalgic wear to account for the past few years in sweatsuits due to COVID
💅1 in 3 young people are interested in learning more about buying 'clean' makeup when it comes to production but also in emulating a 'clean' aesthetic in their looks
Shopping
🛍️ 1 in 4 young adults are looking to do most of their shopping within the social media feed and are looking for immersive digital experiences to support that
Music
🎵 70% of teens expect to learn about new music and artists through social media and 1 in 3 teens are expecting to see more dancing challenges into 2022
Celebrities & Creators
👤 4 out of 5 young people agree that "social media and other online celebrities have more influence on culture than traditional celebrities"
